Carnegie Mellon University

MBA/MSE Admission Requirements

The Master of Business Administration and Master of Software Engineering (MBA/MSE) degree program is a 32-month (seven semester) program, starting each year in late August. This dual-degree program is designed for exceptionally strong candidates applying for the MBA and the MSE programs. Each applicant must have an engineering/science background for the MSE. The completion date cannot be accelerated; students must remain in residence at Carnegie Mellon for the full seven semesters of the program.

Three-year undergraduate degrees from outside the United States (i.e., United Kingdom, India, etc.) are generally not considered to be the equivalent to a U.S. bachelor degree. A bachelor degree from an accredited institution is the minimum requirement for admission to our professional master's programs.

We encourage all prospective students to review all released consumer information regarding study at Carnegie Mellon; this information is available via The Hub.
