Bass Travels to SSN University

Professor Matt Bass recently traveled to Chennai, India to visit with our longest standing international collaborative education partner, the SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering (SSN SASE).

SSN is one of India’s most respected institutions of higher technical learning; and SASE is widely regarded as a top school for software engineering in India. Students from SSN were among the first to take part in the MSE’s now highly successful model of joint education, helping us pioneer an approach whereby students complete core software engineering coursework - taught by CMU-trained SSN faculty - in Chennai ahead of two semesters of study onsite in Pittsburgh.

While in Chennai, Matt met with students from the most current cohort due to arrive in Pittsburgh this May. Additionally, he engaged in student recruitment and industrial relations, delivering a talk entitled “Architecting for the Cloud” to 45 engineers from HCL, Ebay, and PayPal.

The program thanks our gracious hosts at SSN for a productive trip and looks forward to many more years of fruitful collaboration.
