MSIT-SE Students Win Harvard Hackathon

MSIT-SE Students Arjun Santhanam, Anandh Somasundaram recently won top prize in the Hacking Eating Tracking hackathon, hosted by Harvard Medical School and sponsored by Yevo. Along with their teammate, Gerardo Ravago of Boston University, the team developed a solution called “Buffet Tracker”. As over consumption in a buffet restaurant setting is common, the application uses arduino, RFID tags/readers, and weight sensors to track the amount of food each visitor to a buffet serves themselves and provides nutritional data on each patron’s total consumption.

Congratulations to Arjun, Anandh, and Gerardo on winning the hackathon and creating this exciting application!
