Mead Receives Distinguished Education Awardmead_nancy

We are honored to announce that Dr. Nancy Mead, Principal Researcher at CERT Secure Software and Systems and Adjunct Professor of Software Engineering at Carnegie Mellon, recently received the 2015 IEEE Computer Society Technical Council on Software Engineering (TCSE) Distinguished Education Award. The award is presented annually to those who demonstrate outstanding and sustained contributions to the field of software engineering education.

Mead is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) and the IEEE Computer Society, and a Distinguished Member of the ACM. Mead has more than 150 publications and invited presentations, and presently serves on the Editorial Board for the International Journal on Secure Software Engineering. In addition to her ongoing work with the SEI, she has developed an elective course in software assurance for the Master of Software Engineering programs. She generously shares her expertise both in the classroom and has been a highly-valued member of the MSE community.
