Thomas Receives College Teaching Award

award announcementWe are pleased to announce that Dr. Don Thomas, Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and co-founder of the Master of Science in Information Technology - Embedded Software Engineering program, was the recipient of this year’s Benjamin Richard Teare Jr. Teaching Award. The award is granted by the College of Engineering to a faculty member within the college who demonstrates excellence in teaching, educational innovation, and educational leadership.

This award is one of many Dr. Thomas – an ACM Fellow – has received; having earned praise and awards including the Best Paper Award at the International Symposium on Integrated Circuits, ACM's Special Interest Group on Design Automation (SIGDA) Pioneering Achievement Award and Distinguished Service Award, among others. As a part of the MSIT-ESE program, Dr. Thomas has been fundamental in crafting curricula and mentoring students interested in Embedded Software Engineering since 2006.
