Jane Miller

Assoc. Director of International Initiatives and Programs Manager

Jane Dixon Miller is the Programs Manager for the Master of Software Engineering Professional programs. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Master in Business Administration from Seton Hill University.

In her position, Jane is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all areas of the program's administration including admissions, student evaluation, international partnerships, licensing, visitor relations, and marketing.  The suite of software engineering graduate programs includes six different degree programs (of which three are joint with other colleges), a distance education program, and several active international collaborations and dual degree programs.  She organizes and oversees numerous extracurricular activities and events for students and visiting faculty, and serves as the point of contact for performance issues, compliance matters, and internal / external communications.

Jane has two ambitious, overachieving (and funny!) children.  Her daughter, Charlie, graduated from Northwestern University twice-- first in 2007 with a biomedical engineering undergrad degree, and later in December 2011 with her biomed engineering master's degree.  She graduated in June 2017 from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, and is currently a first-year intern resident at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.  Her son, Shane, graduated from Emory University in May 2010 with a business-political science undergraduate degree, after which he took a year off and competed in the professional golf circuit in Florida.  After graduating in May 2014 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Shane served as a federal judicial law clerk in downtown Pittsburgh. He is currently employed with Tucker Arensberg Law Firm in Pittsburgh.

When she's not working overtime to recover from all of those tuition expenses, Jane can be found riding her beloved (though much too clever) Andalusian-Trakehner grey gelding, King Oberon.
