Senta: MSE Student, Ninja Warrior
Brian Senta may strike you as a mild-mannered Masters of Software Engineering student, but don't let that fool you. Brian has another side—American Ninja Warrior. This spring, Senta traveled to Miami for the Northeast Regionals of the G4 television show American Ninja Warrior. The qualifying course Senta ran consisted of seven obstacles designed to test the physical and mental mettle of the contestants. Senta met the challenge of two brand-new obstacles on the course, the Bungie Bridge (five evenly spaced bungie planks spanning 18 feet) and Jumping Bars (think Monkey Bars on steroids). Despite mastering those obstacles, a regular feature, the Jump Hang, ended his run to the title of American Ninja Warrior.
Brian Senta's application video (featuring him practicing his Ninja and software engineering moves) and clips from the show are available online. Fair warning: it is all too easy to become engrossed in the competition. While you are at it, check out the article about Senta in the Post-Gazette (you will have to scroll past the blurb about Dance Moms!).
