Dr. Shashikant Albal

Director, SSN SASE

Dr. Shashikant Albal has been working as the Director of SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering since its founding in 2001. Dr. Albal has also served as the director of SSN School of Advanced Career Education – which offers a Post Graduate Certificate program in Business Analytics in partnership with industry leaders – since 2013 and as the Chairman of Computer Internet Software Committee at SSN Institutions, looking after the technical infrastructure, and enhancing technology enabled teaching learning process in all the schools in the institutions.

Besides software engineering, Dr.Albal’s interest lie in curriculum development; taking the responsibility of developing curriculum for the engineering programs (in 2011) offered by Shiv Nadar University, Delhi.

Working in the field of project and process management, Dr. Albal regularly reviews papers contributed to CSEET and PMI India Project Management Research & Academic conferences.

Prior to joining SSN, Dr. Albal has worked in a variety of IT organizations including

  • SYNTEL, where his major contribution were in quantitative project and process management as well as securing the organization’s CMM level-5 certification.
  • Mahindra British Telecom (TechMahindra), where he established a school by obtaining courseware from CMU to bring the best practices in software engineering within the organization.
  • Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he incorporated courses from various software engineering streams to strengthen the training program offered to the new hires.

Dr. Albal obtained his PhD in CAD from IIT, Bombay in 1978. He practices YOGA regularly and organizes YOGA sessions for the students. He is fond of pets and indulges in philosophical reading when time permits.
